the taniwha of the creek

The Taniwha of the Creek.

Along time ago when there used to be lots of tiny Taniwha they didn't all look the same until
the humans came
along and made them go into hiding. The leader of all of them all is called Groovy.

One day while walking along my creek I found a Taniwha on it’s back, resting and going with the
flow of the water.
Just before it hit it’s head on a rock I scooped it up with a big net I was carrying. When I did the
Taniwha screamed,
“WHAT ARE YOU DOING? PUT ME down!”
I did what it said and as I did, it grabbed a rock and dropped it on my foot. I fell over into mud.

The Taniwhas wings sprang out and it flew back into the pipe.
When it went in I moved the rock off my foot and with my foot still hurting
I jumped over and looked inside. I lay my eyes on a bright, flashing green xbox symbol.
I looked around to see if there were any of those Taniwhas there.

I went inside, needing to crawl. I made my way in and went through the winding pipes until
I found a place to stand and I saw a hovering symbol.
As I was going to touch it I got a blast of wind that sent me into the wall. I fell onto the floor.
My back still hurting, I charged at it and launched myself onto it and grabbed it. I felt like
I was standing but when I looked down I freaked out because I was hovering.  Then I heard
footsteps. I looked at the entrance.
I got struck in the head, knocking me out. When I woke up I was face to face with a
Taniwha but this one had an xbox logo on its head.
“DO YOU LIKE XBOX OR PLAYSTATION!!!?” shouted the Taniwha.
I said, “Xbox!” and pulled out a necklace with a gnome on the end.

The Taniwha jumped back. “How did you get that?” the Taniwha asked.
I sprinted to the entrance and slid out. I got into the open. I ran as fast as
I could and got into a car and drove away. As I was driving down the track I lost control,
sending the car off the spiky, gravel road into a creek. This creek was far away from where
the symbol was.

Snap! Crackle! went the branches as the car went down into the creek. It hits a massive
rock and the airbag went off in my face. With sweat on my face I scrambled to take off the
seatbelt.

I opened the door and fell into the water. There I saw a fin and it started moving towards me.
It popped up and it turned out to be a watermelon shark! I moved my arm sideways and
I touched something and when I pushed down, it teleported me to the xbox symbol.

All the Taniwhas were looking at me and the one with the xbox symbol on their head said, “
My name is Groovy, what is yours?”
“My name is Poot,” I said.
Groovy said nothing and pointed to the teleporter.  “Please go on the teleporter,” he said.
As I walked on the teleporter I got turned in to a Taniwha and I found myself standing at the
main server room at sony headquarters.

I have a USB and in the blink of an eye the teleporter is gone and in its place is Groovy with
a USB.
“This is a USB killer so put it in the main server, the one that has a label that says playstation
network and playstation plus,” said Groovy. I did what he said. Just as I did I heard a lot of
people saying, “Oh no!” and other things.

It started to explode and then we teleported back and everyone was cheering. When it al
l died down Groovy said,  “Now we need to hibernate till another console is made.”  We
got sent into a secret room behind a stone wall with cryopods and I hopped in and went to
sleep until another console goes viral.

Selfie Poem

My Selfie Poem

I am from the Xbox on the floor,
from the toaster and the fridge.

I am from the pool at the back of my home,
and the warm cozy feeling.
I am from the pine trees around my home,
from rugby and the pine trees.
I am from the sounds of the rain on the roof,
from sleeping in my bed.

I’m from having fun and playing board games and from,
From Bob The Dog and Fynn.

I’m from having to take our shoes off when you go inside
and putting the pull out every Summer,
and from gaming and sitting inside.

I’m from Fynn throwing things and from Fynn
running away in a spiderman suit,
from the pages of the periodic table, and
Elmo’s World.
I am from playing video games and Fortnite.

I am from playing  in my pool, in the back of my yard.
I’m from Greymouth and, New Zealand.
Donuts and pizza, from Fynn not liking Fortnite.
He thinks Fortnite is bad.
I am from Pictures of my house being built.

zombie poem 2019 by Caleb and Eamon

Zombie poem by
- Caleb and Eamon

Zombies around me staring me down
I Cannot blink or make a sound
These soulless creatures walking with fear
Yellow beaming eyes as faint as a car light
These reanimated beast with a cringing grin
And there revolting rotting skin
They leave me in torment and raging denial
I wish them dead and gone for good, burning up like firewood.
Ashes to ashes and dust to dust. I'll kill them all, if I must.
Those hideous faces and evil grins. They look at me, and I'll blow off their chins.
I'll chop them up, into rotten  meat.
I hate everyone of you bloodthirsty creatures.
I'll smack every smile back into a frown.
Boom Pop munch the gather up in a bunch and

eat me up.

Treaty of waitangi

This year Room Eight and Room One had to relearn and go over the Treaty Of Waitangi. We had to make little booklets and waka  showing the flags that have been used as the New Zealand Flag. Everyone has also made a paper boat and each boat in our set team groups are a different waka that came with the Great Fleet.

Mahatma Gandhi

Mahatma Gandhi This week Room Eight are learning about Mahatma Gandhi, this is Eamon and Jennae’s response. Gandhi was a very good person and stood up for his rights just like Nelson Mandela.

Gandhi has changed the way people do things and we think this has also put people together, and it has positively affected people in India and around the world. The meaning of the name Mahatma means a person with love and respect. The name Mahatma also means a person in India that is said to have preternatural powers. Gandhi was born in Porbandar, India.

Just like in South Africa, but in India, there was unfairness going around and white people would not even sit next to the Indians on trains.nbsp; In South Africa Indians were given the worst jobs and they were made to live in horrible places. Mahatma Gandhi wanted to change this. He also wanted to make India one country and not all separate. He fought for his rights just like Nelson Mandela did and he went to jail for believing that everyone should be treated fairly.

What Mahatma Gandhi did affected many people. In the process of his goals many people got killed for following what Mahatma Gandhi said. When Gandhi was achieving what he wanted to do, many people didn’t want change and didn’t believe that this would help India. He said ‘An eye for an eye end up making the whole world blind.’ Eamon and I think that this phrase Gandhi said mean’t he didn’t like it when people fought and he thought it wasn’t right.

We agree with him that it is not right and that everyone should live peacefully together without fighting. In India people used salt in their food. The government taxed salt and people were not allowed to collect their own salt. Gandhi didn’t want this to happen so he got people to keep collecting salt.

This got people to get in trouble with the police because they were collecting salt when they were not suppose to. Overall Gandhi was a good person and influenced people to live peacefully together. Gandhi made people be affected by his acts and this is in a good way.
